Access Control Entry Issue after Installing Lync 2013 into the Forest

I am having an issue after deploying Lync 2013 into the same Forest/Domain where Exchange 2013 is deployed. Lync 2013 and Exchange 2013 both work fine, however, when I am in the Exchange 2013 Admin Center and I edit either a Group or a Resource, I receive the following warning:

warning
The object has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:

The access control entry defines the ObjectType '9b51a1ef-79b7-4ae5-9ac8-d14c47daca46' that can't be resolved..

Has anyone run into this or have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

I appreciate any assistance.

Thank You,

Hello,

I can't even find a place to purchase 2013 so I'm hoping the trial version will work fine to migrate to 2016.

Thanks in Advance

name space vs certificate requirement

Hi There,

I have build one Exchange 2016 on-prem and also registered a trail version O365 for my learning purpose.

my name space is mail.domain.com , therefore OWA URL: https://mail.domain.com/owa & OA name space: mail.domain.com

my autodiscover internal URL is currently set to: https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

my autodiscover external URL is currently set to: https://mail.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

I have a public DNS A record mail.domain.com pointing to my reverse proxy and I'll do SSL offloading at reverse proxy.

Following are my questions,

1. Will I be able to manage the third party SSL certificate with just single SAN entry , mail.domain.com?

2. or do I need to compulsory have autodicover.domain.com in my certificate SAN entry?

Outlook anywhere 2010 / 2013 / O365 hybrid

Hi All,

I'm hoping one of the guru's here can clear up my confusion on outlook anywhere.

We have an Exchange 2010 and 2013 environment, along with a Exchange online presence.

We recently configured Exchange 2013 outlook anywhere and noticed it overwrote client settings (Outlook 2010) on all clients with mailboxes on 2010, 2013 and Exchange online.

From my understanding, we need to also have Outlook Anywhere configured in the exchange 2010 environment. If I set the OA configuration in 2010, will it overwrite the configuration on all clients that was set in exchange 2013?

Thanks in advance.

Creating New Accounts with Hybrid / Office 365

We have Exchange 2013 in a Hybrid configuration with Office 365.  Some mailboxes are still in onsite Exchange, but we want all new users created to start with their mailbox in O365.

What is the correct way now to create a new user in AD / Exchange / 365?

Create the user as normal, then migrate to O365?  Create the mailbox directly on O365?

Hybrid Deployment Check fails during Exchange 2013 SP1 setup

Hi All,

When I run the installer for Exchange Server 2013 SP1, I get to the stage where it has detected we are running in hybrid, and asks for some O365 credentials. When I type in the credentials it comes back with a strange error, stating:

"Could not load type 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data.SubscribedPlanDetails' from assembly 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'."

It then allows me to exit or go back and try again.

I've tried the service account I created especially, with the permissions suggested by Microsoft in the Exchange 2013 release notes, and also tried using Global Admin accounts.

Server: 2012 R2 fully updated with all pre-reqs installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Get SMTP usage information from Exchange 2013 Servers

Hi,

I am try to get information from Exchange 2013 logs for machines using smtp.Company.com to send emails. right now we have a DNS alias SMTP.Company.com resolved to load balancer and then load balancer send those requests to 4 backend Exchange 2013 Servers.

I am trying to block SMTP anonymous access and before remove this I want to identify all the servers using SMTP.Company.com to send emails to avoid outage.

if there any way I can identify those individual servers. I checked protocol logs on my server ..Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\Logs\FrontEnd\ProtocolLog\ both SMTPRecieve and SMTPSend. I don't find one of my server which send email very night and early morning. all its showing is the IP address of the Load balancer.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks

New Exchange 2013 (CU13) Install- failing after prepareschema, preparead and preparealldomains succeeded

Our organization is going to migrate from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 CU13. We are going to change our exchange topology by installing hyper-V virtual 2013 servers at each location and setting up a DAG so the locations can fail over to each other if need be. The first site has no exchange server there any more- there were two 2010 servers (Mailbox and CAS) but they were properly uninstalled and no longer show up in the Exchange organization. I also cleaned up and removed any other extraneous servers that may have previously failed or been uncleanly removed- I was able to do all cleanup using Exchange installation tools and did nothave to use ASDI Edit or Schema Management to accomplish any of these tasks- We have a pristine environment. The first Exchange 2013 server is now ready to install. I ran setup.exe /PrepareSchema, setup.exe /PrepareAD, and Setup.exe /PrepareAllDomains. All completed successfully. Then I went to install Exchange. When it got to Organization Preparation 1/9, it failed. Here is the error:

Error:

So to me it looks like Exchange is trying to run the prepare steps again and failing because everything is prepared already. How do I get past this- Is there a switch that tells Setup to skip this step?

Hey Team, Happy Monday :).

KB3150501 - "Security Update For Exchange Server 2013 CU11"

On Saturday 18th at roughly 3:30am the Windows Update KB3150501 failed to install.

Event Log: Error - MsiInstaller - 11712 - Product: Microsoft Exchange Server -- Error 1712. One or more of the files required to restore your computer to its previous state could not be found.  Restoration will not be possible.

All Exchange services stopped and disabled.

Attempted to download and install this update manually, produced an error almost straight away.

Event Log: Error - MsiInstaller - 1024 - Product: Microsoft Exchange Server - Update 'Security Update for Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 11 (KB3150501) 15.0.1156.10' could not be installed. Error code 1603. Windows Installer can create logs to help troubleshoot issues with installing software packages. Use the following link for instructions on turning on logging support: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=23127

I then found all disabled services via this log "C:\ExchangeSetupLogs\ServiceControl.txt" and re-enabled and started them, and have my Exchange back, it appears 100% functional.

I would like to get this update installed and problem resolved. I am not sure which files error 11712 is talking about. No changes to OS or file system, etc.

SFC /SCANNOW did not find any integrity violations.

CHKDSK C: found no problems.

Move the hub transport and client access roles

Hi all,

I have an exchange 2013 server on a VM.

However, I noticed something very odd, I noticed this from ECP. I see the client access role and the hu transport toles are on a VM that is powered off! And not being used.

Two things, how do I move these roles onto the exchange 2013 VM and how on earth is exchange working with this configuration?

Thanks

POP3 SSL / TLS not working after certificate installation...

Hi all,

The other day we renewed our 3rd party certificate on our Exchange 2013 server.  During the renewal I bound the new cert to the various services (POP, IMAP, IIS, SMTP) and made sure the bindings in IIS were set to point to the new cert.

I've come to find out that since doing this, POP3 SSL connections stopped working.  I used the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer to attempt a connection and it failed.  The failure happened when theMicrosoft Connectivity Analyzer tried to obtain the certificate.  It wasn't able to obtain the remote SSL certificate and spit out this error:

"The certificate couldn't be validated because SSL negotiation wasn't successful. This could have occurred as a result of a network error or because of a problem with the certificate installation."

With that said, I've double and triple checked the various settings for the certificate to make sure it's valid and bound to the POP service and the user account is enabled for POP and restarted the POP3 services.  I've also made certain that the port (995 in this case) is open and accepting connections from the server in question (it is).  Just for kicks, I tried to re-key and re-install the cert again to no avail.  I also ran the Get-PopSettings cmdlet and saw that SSL bindings are correct, LoginType is SecureLogin, and the X509CertificateName is set to the right certificate.  Yet even after restarting services, this problem persists.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to resolving this?
