Error while installing Exchange 2013 readiness check

Hello !

i've encountered a problam during the installation of the Exchange Server 2013 on the Readiness Check,

please, see below the following error:

Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();

Outlook keep connecting and disconnecting from exchange 2013

hi, currently im having microsoft exchange 2013 in server 2012 standard. when i running my outlook 2007/2010/2013 , it will keep showing connecting and disconnected. once i restart microsoft exchange rpc client access and it will be working fine for temporary, around 10 min later and it will happend again, can advise?

Set up Migration Endpoint to single-label Domain/Forest

I'm in the process of migrating a company from a single-label domain & forest, "domainname," to a new "newdomainname.local" domain & forest. EX2013 single-server installed and working on both domains, including autodiscover. Trust is set up and works, cross-domain DNS works from both sides. However...

I can create a Migration Endpoint on ex2013.domainname that points to ex2013.newdomainname.local, but when I try to add a mailbox created in newdomainname.local, none are displayed.

I can't create a Migration Endpoint at all on ex2013.newdomainname.local. I get a message that starts, "We couldn't detect your server settings. Please enter them. AutoDiscover failed with a configuration error: The migration service failed to detect the migration endpoint using the Autodiscover service."

I'm prompted for the FQDN of the other Exchange server. When I enter ex2013.domainname, I get, "Error: The connection to the server 'ex2013.domainname' could not be completed."

Is this expected when one server is on a single-label domain? Is there a way to enable me to use mailbox migration?

Unable to access Exchange 2013 EAC/ECP webpage

Hi All,

Getting extremely frustrated now with a new Exchange 2013 installation on a Windows Server 2012 VM...

After having a lot of problems with the installation (didn't uninstall visual c++ which caused failure, then needed to delete the AD Microsoft Exchange System Objects group due to permission failures, etc) I've now got a fully installed Exchange server. Still, now I cannot figure out how to fix my next problem - Accessing the EAC/ECP.

I've searched every possible web guide/forum thread and the only one which is the same issue I'm having is this one: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/89c42771-78c9-4d94-88e5-557320eccc71 

Unfortunately, as you can see in that thread, it is still unresolved. 

Current Issue: trying to access https://localhost/ecp (or any other variation) returns a 404 Not Found.

The error page points the physical path to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ecp however that folder does not exist. I have tried manually changing the IIS site (Exchange Back End) to point its physical path to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\ecp which seems to be valid, however it doesn't work...

Not sure what else to do... HELP!

Installing Update Rollup 7 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3

Hi,

I have 4 Exchange servers. Two CAS and two DAG. I am currently on Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 3010 SP 3. Can I install Update Rollup 7 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3 or do I need to install a previous one first?

Exchange 2010 SP2, Update Rollup 7

Our setup before we applied Rollup 7:

Exchange 2010, SP2 Update Rollup 6 running on all servers.

2 Mailbox servers w/ DAG

3 CAS/HUB Servers using a hardware load balancer

No problems prior to the Rollup 7 installation.

The Rollup went fine on 4 out of the 5 Exchange Servers. On the 5th server, however, there are problems. The first time I tried to install RU7 it was about 5 hours in when I cancelled it. So I tried again and the install has been running for 13 hours and it appears to be only about 40% complete. The progress bar has been stuck in the same spot for nearly all of that time. Per an article I found on Susan Bradley site (SBS Diva) I had verified that "Check for publisher's certificate revocation" was disabled in IE prior to the start of the install.

I have seen Service Packs take a long time in the past and I have Rollup Updates take a long time too, but this is taking a very long time.

Anyone else  observing this issue with this latest Update Rollup for Exch10, SP2?

2010 to 2013 migration. Can't connect OWA to 2013 server unless 2010 server is on line

I am migrating an SBS 2011 Exchange server (2010) to Exchange 2013 on a W2012 Server (not a DC). I completed the install and moved one user's mailbox to the 2013 server. All users can process their email via OWA and Outlook. But, if the SBS 2011 server is disconnected, the migrated user cannot log on via OWA and I can't log in to administrator ecp. They just time out. I know the mailbox is migrated because if I disconnect the 2013 server and OWA into the SBS 2011 server it gets an error saying the mailbox server is unavailable. I must have missed a step in the migration. Can someone please point me at some documentation for completing the migration.

Hello all,

I setup a lab area in my company for learn somethings about exchange and server 2012. 

I had download ISo files from "ms partner download" site few days ago.  I have installed Windows Server 2012 standard to a virtual machine as DC. Now Im traying to install Exchange Server 2013 to different virtual machine. I logged in as domain administrator to Exchange machine. 

All prerequisites complated and I get error message during installation :

Error:Installing product D:\exchangeserver.msi failed. Fatal error during installation. Error code is 1603. Last error reported by the MSI package is 'The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2337. '.

I searched on technet and internet but no solution for me. 

Tried to "run as admin" and I had clear temp files. 

Any idea ?

Exchange 2013 cu6 Schema update failed

I am trying to install Exchange 2013 on server 2012 r2. AD level is 2012 r2 and I currently have exchange 2010 sp3 with all the rollups running. DCdiag passes with no errors.

The setup fails at the first step which is schema and AD preparation with the following error.

How to delete the duplicate folders left over by KB2991934

I've been caught out on a few sites with the bug mentioned in http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2991934

As a result I've got duplicate Contacts folders.  I've moved all my contacts from the one folder over to the new Contacts folder, but I cannot delete the old folder from Outlook or OWA.  How can I do this?

Event 2193, MSExchange ADAccess

Hi,

After updating our Exchange 2013 SP1 servers to CU6 we get a lot of these errors in the Application log on them. All our DCs except two that is on the same site as the Exchange servers, is in the error messages. It is a bit random in time but each DC gives an error about every 25 minutes on both Exchange servers. Any idea?

Cannot reply to migrated email

Hi there,

We migrated our mail solution from Gmail Entreprise to Exchange 2013 (on premise).
To migrate the mail box, we synchronized using Google Apps Sync the Gmail mail box in Outlook and did a full synchronization. When the synchro was done, we used the PST build for this mailbox and injected it in the exchange mailbox.

All the mails, contacts, agendas for the users are here.
I can send and receive new mail with the Exchange 2013.

However, if I try to answer (reply or reply to all) to a mail before the migration, I can see all the contact are fully filled ... but exchange return "'550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found" to the mail and do not deliver it.

If I remove all the contacts, and refill them in the box with their full email address, then, it works.
I checked the imported contact in the PST and they are well filled with name, email address etc ... 
I tried to clear the auto-complete list of outlook with no more success.

Any idea about this behavior ?

I am using the last known version of GoogleAppsSync and last version version of Outlook 2013 / Exchange 2013 as of today.
I have the same issue on all migrated account on different computer.

Setting up Exchange 2013 with Exch2007 and Exch2003 in co-existence

Greetings,

I am planning to upgrade the existing Exch2007 to Exch2013.

The current setup is on Exchange 2007. However, I have legacy Exchange 2003 servers in my environment which doesn't hosts any mailbox(s) on it.

Please let me know if I have to decommission these Ex2003 servers before proceeding with the installation process to Exch2013.

Also, let me know if I have to use the same account used to install/configure the Exchange 2007 OR I can use any account having Schema Admin, Domain Admin and Enterprise Admin permissions to start the installation/configuration of Exchange 2013.

Rule Title: Audit data must be on separate partitions.

I am having a discussion with our information security team on moving a specific folder to a different partition during the exchange setup and install.  
I am aware that I can move the 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\TransportRoles\Logs' on the hub transport server.  
The rule I am referring to is stating I have to move '\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Logging\'.  The only folder that I believe I can redirect is 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Logging\IRMLogs', 
I am not aware of how I can move the entire '\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Logging\' to a separate partition.  Does anyone have any ideas or references that state this can or cannot be done.

I am trying to provide information to our information security team on this issue.  Thank you.

Hi everyone i want to do transition of exchange server 2007SP3 to exchange server 2013.

I have tested it on windows server 2012 but now i got to install on windows server 2008 R2.

Experts please do guide me 
1. what are the Prequisities to install exchange server 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
my mailbox and CAS will be on the same server.

I want to do the transition to Exchange 2013 CU2 and once i am done i would decommsion Exchange 2007
After that can i upgrade Exchange 2013 Cu2 to Exchange 2013 SP1?
Any prerequisites before the upgrade to SP1.

Exchange 2013 Standard and Enterprise versions in same organization

Hello,

Is it possible in Excahnge 2013 like it was in 2010 to mix and match Exchange versions between the mailbox and client access roles? Right now I am looking at using the enterprise version on the mailbox servers since I will be creating more than the default 5 databases. But I just want to use the standard version on my client access servers since I have a role separated deployment.

I have been looking online but cannot fine a definite answer to my question saying explicitly that yes I can do that or no I can no longer do it. Checking the official licensing page for Microsoft does not state that you can one way or another.

Exchange Upgrade from 2007 to 2013

Hello,

In the notes to prepare the AD domain, it is stated that one needs to execute the following command

setup.exe /PrepareAD /OrganizationName: "orgname" /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseterms

Well I am already running an Exchange 2007 server in my AD and want to add a 2013 box to eventually migrate users over to.

So do I put the current Exchange Organization name here or do I create a new name?

Remove Servers from Servers List in EAC

I just brought up a new Exchange 2013 SP1 Server on a 2012 r2 domain which gave me a real hard time about completing the install which required cleaning out some objects from adsiedit.msc in order to have a clean install run.... Or so I had thought after bringing the server up and started down the checklist I found that there are several servers listed under the server list in the EAC that do not exist and there are either no databases associated with them or listed as unknown. They are also not part of a DAG.

3 of the names were from failed installs where I just deleted the server from esx 5.1 and cleaned up the ad objects using adsiedit.msc or so I thought as well as a what looks like a failed 2010 server install from a another admin previous to me being here.

What is the best/safest way to remove these servers from the server/database list?
