Migrate onpremise mailboxes to Exchange Online

$

Hi,

What the most easy type of migration to migrate Exchange 2007 emailboxcontent and emailbox information to Office 365 Exchange Online? We don't want to move the Active Directory services to Office 365, only the mailboxes.

In a small environment we just create new Exchange accounts within Office 365, connected local Outlook to the Office 365 emailbox and import existing email (PST). But now we face a project with a bit more emailboxes, so we would like to know how to easy migrate email content in an automated proces.

Thank you!

Mailbox Migration Issues

Hi,

I have 2 exchange 2013 server in 2 different domains in the same premise. I have created a trust between both the domains for forest wide authentication. I am trying to migrate a user mailbox from one domain to another. I have followed the following steps for migration of the mailbox.

1. run the preparemoverequest script for preparing the mailbox migration.

2. Used the admt tool to migrate the SID of the user from the one domain to the other.

3. Once i start performing the mailbox migration from the Exchange 2013 EAC it gives me an error saying "remote move request recipient isn't a mailbox".

Any help would be highly appreciated

Hello,

After successfully installed Microsoft Exchange 2013 coexistence with Exchange 2007, I run into many problems. I am getting event ID 1023:Microsoft-Windows-Perflib: Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL MSExchangeIS. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the windows error code.

Event ID 6003: MSExchange Common: ConnectitityLog: Failed to create log directory: Access is denied to path. What kind of access permission do I give to the file directory?

Decommissioning Exchange 2007 hub transports after 2013 migration.

We have completed our migration of all mailboxes and public folders from 2007 to 2013 and are now ready to start decommisioning the 2007 servers. We are still using Exchange 2007 Edge Transport servers for the time being.

My question is this..
Since installing 2013 I have not yet re-done the Edge subscriptions. So the Edge Transports are handing off to the 2007 hubs still and from there email is getting routed to the 2013 servers.
To remove the 2007 hubs from the mix I would assume I need to re-do the Edge subscription from one of the 2013 servers. Is that correct?
If so, can I then shutdown the 2007 hubs or are there additional steps I need to take?

If anyone can provide me the steps to make this transition without disrupting mail flow that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

X-OWA-Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.NotSupportedWithServerVersionException can't access 2007 mailbox from 2013 server

This one is driving me absolutely crazy,  hours and hours spent on this with no luck.  This is 2007/2013 env.  The issue is, if I move a mailbox to 2007 then 2013 OWA is fine, then if I move the mailbox back to 2007 I can't access the mailbox via OWA when going through a 2013 CAS server.  yes I've read the posts about permissions inheritance etc.. yes I've cranked up AD and OWA logging nothing.. yes I've imported the IIS logs into log parser and I'm seeing various errors mostly 302.  Yes, I've ruled out 2007 servers, it's 2013.  If I recreate the mailbox it works then when move back and forth from 2007 to 2013 problem re-appears.  Yes, I have dumped AD attributes and compared them with working and non working mailbox can't find anything.  Yes, I've rebooted servers.  Yes this happens with multiple mailboxes.

In fact I have this example right now makes no sense.  I have two 2013 servers, if I go through the 2013 servers CAS servers to access the mailbox using OWA that resides on the 2007 server, it works through one server and the other it doesn't with the above errors.  I'd love to hear suggestions.. I'm at the end of my rope

Exchange 2013 CU12 breaks OWA

Hello,

We have 4 Exchange 2013 servers running Windows Server 2012 R2

I have upgraded all of the servers from Exchange 2013 CU11 to CU12 this week, and also installed the latest Windows updates.

I have found that OWA no longer works following the install of CU12 on all servers.

As per any CU install I always run the "UpdateCAS.ps1" script following the installation on all servers, and also the"UpdateConfigFiles.ps1" script. This has not fixed the problem.

I can navigate to the following URL on all servers https://localhost/owa and be presented with the OWA logon page, however once I have entered my credentials and hit enter I get the following response:

"HTTP 400 Bad Request - The webpage cannot be found"

This is the same from Windows client machines - tested with IE11, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

If I access OWA from Chrome on my android phone, I can log in to OWA without issue, and I receive the OWA "light" interface - which is normal.

Has anyone else seen this issue since upgrading to CU12?

Regards

Matt

Are there any resources available?

Is coexistence possible?

Is there Multi-Tenancy/hosting mode available in Exchange 2013/2016?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Blank screen after logging into OWA, and ECP/ Unable to use PowerShell. Reset IIS Settings

So everyone,

I am hoping someone can make sense of what I did here.  I am trying to deploy my first email server for my company.

I got the installation complete, created the send connector, created virtual directory's and then left the server alone for a few days. I

I came back to a broken exchange server.

I think I did something in either ECP or IIS that broke everything, but I can't seem to find a fix that works.

Background:

Windows server 2012 R2 valid with license but constant issues activating properly

Exchange was deployed and activated with valid product key

Followed a ton of articles about changing the certificates, reset IIS, etc. None of them have worked

Tried to reset virtual directories, but unable to log into PowerShell

Server is in a virtual environment

I have not purchased a valid SSL cert and won't until we deploy live

Here is the error from PowerShell

This is in the error logs as well:

A worker process '13600' serving application pool 'MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool' failed to stop a listener channel for protocol 'http' in the allotted time.  The data field contains the error number.

Simple question: Can I install mulitple Exchange 2013 servers at the same time?

I will have to install 8 Exchange 2013 servers this weekend. To save some time I would like to start setup on multiple servers at the same time. Will this give me any issues? Or do I have to wait for every install to finish?

Zimbra 8 to Exchange 2013 Migration Suggestions

We currently use zimbra 8 and are looking to move to exchange 2013 since the future of zimbra looks to be bleek. Currently we have about 20 users. I would like to get mail, calendar, contacts and notes. I have read other threads like:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/e94a8bb6-06df-44fa-bbff-0ecdea9dbf4d/migrate-from-zimbra-to-exchange-2010?forum=exchange2010

Is this the best way? This procedure appears to get only mail. Is there a way to get calendar, contacts and such? I really don't want to have to export to pst and then import as this would cause hours of email downtime (zimbra server up while i export. Then configuring the router for the exchange server to accept connections then import). About half the users are connecting from the internet and therefore have to come in through the router. How do you gurus handle going from 1 email platform to another?

share cross forest free/busy information between Exhange 2010 and 2013 no trust

Testing in lab environment, share free busy information cross forest with one Exchange 2010 in Forest A and one Exchange 2013 in Forest B.

Got GalSync working with FIM2010

Followed https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msukucc/2013/11/27/cross-forest-freebusy-in-untrusted-forests/ and a lot of other tutorials. Even read all what can be read on this topic ( I think)

cross forest autodiscover is woking fine in both domain's as tested with "Test E-mail Autoconfiguration" in Outlook 2010 with no certificate errors.

But when adding a calendar from a user in the other forest, Outlook prompt's for a password.

Can someone please advice? Please let me know if you need more information.

IMAP connectivity error

I've freshly setup an Exchange 2013 server in coexistence with my Exchange 2007 environment. I have not migrated any mailboxes yet as I'm still testing to ensure connectivity is working. I think I have all the services configured now, except for a problem with logging into IMAP.

The MS Remote Connectivity Analyzer reports this log (edited to mask user ID):

S: * OK The Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 service is ready.

The environment setup is a single E2013 box with all roles installed.  The E2007 setup contains 3 servers: 1 with mailbox and hub transport, 1 with client access, 1 with edge transport.  As I mentioned earlier, the mailbox I'm testing against is still on the E2007 server.  For the sake of testing, I have tried the username in both the domain\user and UPN formats.

We are planning to update our Exchange 2013 environment .

Is it possible to rollback a cumulative update for Exchange 2013?

For example: Rollback from Exchange Server 2013 CU12 to CU6

Is there a Microsoft best practices for this?
