So I am trying to migrate an imap server to Exchange 2013. The tools im using work really well but i am running into some issues with certain emails. I've identified a group of emails that wont copy over via imap to imap(exchange).
I ran an IMAP to IMAP via a tool im using – FAILS
I ran an IMAP to Exchange via Outlook(mac & pc whatever protocol "Exchange accounts use") - Works
I ran IMAP(source1) to IMAP(exchange) via Thunderbird – FAILS
I ran IMAP(source1) to IMAP(source1) via Thunderbird – Works (different accounts)
I've even gone as far as copying the email via imap to exchange and back to the original imap server on a different folder. Doing a comparison on the files (mdir), they are identical in every way. A diff shows nothing different in headers or content and size. So my question is why does it fail to copy over one protocol but work in another? How can I get the imap protocol to accept the message? Is there some sort of setting ? Anyone know of any tools that can copy directly into the exchange protocol so I dont have this issue?
