Hi,
I am working on a migration-project where we migrate mailboxes in one domain (let's call ut a.com) to mailboxes in a new domain (let's call it b.com).The old and new domains are in differens forrests.
I am using the prepare-moverequest script and the migration-functionality in Exchange 2013 to do the migrations. The migration is working fine, the mailboxes are migrated and the user can access the mailbox and read the emails in it from the new domain after migration. BUT I have one problem: After migration the owner of the migrated mailbox cannot reply to old emails from non-migrated users.
Example: User B sends an email to user A before migration, this email is successfully delivered to user A's inbox. Now user A's mailbox is migrated to the new domain and the new Exchange-org. After migration user A can read the original mail from user B, but he can not reply to it. If he tries to reply, no email-address is associated with user B. But if user A create a new email to user B, this is sent and successfully delivered to user B.
It seems that something happens during the migration so that Outlook does not has the necessary information to reply to the old emails from non-migrated users? As said, I can create a new mail to a non-migrated user or to an external user, and this is delivered successfully.
