Upgrade Question

Hello,

Just a basic question. In reading the Exchange Server deployment Assistant for going from an environment where we currently run one Exchange 2007 server with the Hub, Mailbox, and CAS roles installed to adding an Exchange 2013 SP1 server with the CAS and mailbox roles assigned to it into our current exchange environment, I came across a section where it states that I must give my CAS services a new name like "legacy.xxx.com" because the current naming convention as "part of the upgrade process" will be moved from my Exch. 2007 to my Exch 2013 server.

I am wondering is this automatic? The way it is worded suggests that it is.  I would rather this not happen so I can configure new DNS names for my new Exch 2013 Cas services and leave my Exch. 2007 alone and as is for now so clients still access that one.

Regards,

Mike
