Exchange 2013 ECP does not list Exchange 2007 database

Hello

I am in the middle of replacing Exchange 2007 with 2013. Both servers have all roles installed.  I migrated my mailbox first and for a few days everything was fine except ActiveSync.  I then switched the IP addresses thinking that would solve the ActiveSync problem, but since then ECP no longer displays the 2007 database and I am experiencing a few more problems.

  • Mailboxes on the new server can receive email but not send
  • If I direct SMTP traffic from the Internet to the new server, it is rejected by the server.  If I direct SMTP from the Internet to the old server, mailboxes on the both servers will receive the mail.
  • If I attempt to move mailboxes back to the 2007 database, I get a message within a minute saying the migration was successful but nothing was migrated.

I have spent all day trying to resolve this and I think all problems are related to the missing database in ECP.  The database is an option in the migration wizard though.  It just isn't listed under Servers.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Edit: I added the Send Connector to the new 2013 server under scoping and I can now send email to the Internet but not internally

Edit 2:  I removed the range and added the IP of the 2013 server on the receive connector of the 2007 server.  Shouldn't have made a difference but it did.  I can now send emails internally.

Edit 3: Editing the receive connector on 2007 seems to have also fixed the rejection issue.

Case Closed
