So all the users have been migrated and everything is flowing good from 2010 to 2013.
Could you kindly walk me through as to what would be best solution to retire exchange 2010 and make the 2013 as primary exchange server.
Currently we are using 2010 as relay because of the cross-forest migration. Now that all users are on ForestB.com (shared namespace Domain.com) we want to shutdown the 2010 exchange server and have exchange 2013 be the Authenticated Exchange server.
One thought I had in mind is.
Stop the 2010 exchange services, move the 2010 internal IP to exchange 2013 and then switch the exchange 2013 to "Authoritative domain", that sounds all to easy but that's pretty much it I think. ?
I could change the dns for the Domain.com to point to new exchange server "external IP" but then I have to mess around with all the firewalls and some apps that might used the IP instead of FQDN...
Let me know what would be best solution
