I have an Exchange 2007 installation with a problem where ADAccess cannot locate a GC. The single Exchange server is installed on a backup DC. The Primary DC failed and was replaced -- required forced removal of failed DC, FSMO role seizure, etc. Now that the domain is "repaired" and replicating correctly, the Exchange 2007 service for Topology Discovery cannot find a GC. Odd since both DC's are GC's.
I thought a fix might be to re-run Exchange setup /preparead to correct any AD problem. When I try to run the setup it complains that I have the wrong version. Not sure why other than the Exchange is SP1 and the setup might be non-SP1. Not sure how to tell. Doesn't quite make sense to me.
Thoughts? What other fixes might I try? How can I resolve the setup /p run failure.
