Following is my scenario
Exchange 2010 servers and Outlook 2010 clients connect using MAPI (CAS Array name). No External Outlook Anywhere clients. Currently Outlook Anywhere is disabled using group policy.
To accomplish a transparent(minimal disturbance to users) migration following is what I have in mind.
1. Enable and enforce all internal Outlook 2010 clients to connect using OutlookAnywhere in Exchange 2010 environment.
2. Install/setup Exchange 2013 and point autodiscover.domain.con name to Exchange 2013 servers.
3. Confirm autodiscover using the Exchange 2013 servers are working fine for Exchange 2010 mailbox users.
4. Point OutlookAnywhere and other web URLs to Exchange 2013 CAS servers.
5. Start the mailbox migration.
6. When the mailbox migration completes the user will be prompted to restart Outlook and upon restart autodiscover will automatically update the server details etc and users will continue to work.
Can anybody share their experience trying to migrate mailboxes to Exchange 2013?
Thanks
