I have prepared an Exchange 2010 system for co-existence and am planning to install Exchange 2013 CU2 on Server 2012 R2 to a pair of mailbox servers and a pair of CAS servers.
The prerequisite check portion of the Exchange 2013 install (on either new mailbox server) reports an inability to continue due to a failure to start the remote registry service. I have found a number of similar posts, some with solutions dating as far back as Windows XP; to change the Log On As account to Local System, clear the password fields, reboot, change the Startup Type and start the service. This DOES start the service but only until the next reboot.
Do I need the Remote Registry Service to be working AFTER the installation of Exchange 2013?
I can't figure out how much effort to throw at this issue.
