Outlook 2010 setup needs to resolve user accounts from wrong exchange server

We migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. It seems when I setup a new Outlook 2010 profile, it needs to still resolve to the old server name to get the account information. Basically, I put the old server name in (oldserver.domain.local) and then it automatically changes it to the new server name (DNS name to be exact) (newserver.domain.local), everything works fine. If I try to setup a fresh profile using either the GUID or DNS name of the new server, it fails and tells me the server is offline. I'm a little concerned because I need to decommission the old exchange 2007 server. I have no idea why this would be happening. Autodiscover.xml shows the new server info. All connections from the client show new server info. I have an SRV for autodiscover. I also have an A record for autodiscover to resolve to the new server although I don;t think it's even necessary.

I'm stumped on this one. Anyone have any ideas?

I also want to mention, this happens only if I manually configure the server settings > Microsoft Exchange. If I add the account using the email address, it works fine. I'm using Outlook 2010 ver. 14.0.7106.5003 32bit
